Guest in the studio: singer Ineke van Doorn, who brings her favourite music.
From the start of her career, Ineke van Doorn has won several prominent prizes such as the Edison Jazz Award in 2001, for the ‘Love is a golden Glue’ trio CD with Eric Vloeimans and Marc van Vugt. She performed together with people like Kenny Wheeler, Vince Mendoza, Jasper van t Hof, Jeroen van Vliet, Paul van Kemenade, Eric Vloeimans and Michiel Braam. Starting in 1999, she formed a duo with Jeroen van Vliet for eight years. Her working together with guitar player and composer Marc van Vugt resulted in ten CDs and brought her to Canada, the United States, France, Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Austria, Macedonia and Hungary. With poet Ingmar Heytze, Ineke and Marc wrote and performed the partially improvised opera ‘Alice in Space’. They released a CD containing their own works as a duo, performed with the Metropole Orchestra. In 2007 they performed the ‘Inventing Jazz’ programme with the Dutch chamber choir, with a new self-written repertoire. Last October, the album ‘WHITE’ was released. Its sequel, ‘ (what about) words’, appeared in March. Since 2009, Ineke has been performing solo concerts during which she also uses electronics. Ineke is a singing instructor at the Artez conservatory in Arnhem among other places, and she published an authoritative book about singing.
