Now that the terraces have been filled by night, the blossom spreads its scent and the first bare legs have been sighted, it is time to think of the festival season. This broadcast will warm you up a bit with artists who will get up on the Dutch podiums this summer. Anyone who loves African music will be very busy. Mamar Kassey and Habib Koite will be at the Africa festival in Hertme, Bassekou Kouate at Mundial and Lowlands, and none other than Youssou N’ Dour will perform at Roots open Air in Amsterdam.

Dobet Gnahore
We start off this broadcast with Fatoumata Diawara and Dobet Gnahore who will be at The Hague African festival on 31 May and 1 June respectively.

Nancy Vieira
You can also hear three artists who will play at the Africa festival in Hertme. Nancy Vieira from Cape Verde, Habib Koité from Mali and Mamar Kassey from Niger. This special festival takes place this year on 5 and 6 July. Check the website Afrikafestival Hertme
Additionally, you can listen to Bassekou Kouyate. This summer, he and his band will be performing at Festival Mundial which takes place on 26, 27 and 28 June in Tilburg
