Hilary Hahn is an American violinist. Her class places her in the line of female violinists such as Lola Bobesco, Johanna Martzy and Ida Haendel. She is now at the same level as colleagues such as Janine Janssen and Julia Fischer.
For real lovers of baroque music her Bach approach might be a bit awkward, but she is deeply musical.
In this episode of Bach ad Infinitum Hahn plays Bach's Violin concertos BWV 1042 and 1041 together with Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra conducted by Jeffrey Kahane.
Hilary Hahn also plays the first Violin concerto by Dmitri Shostakovich.
