Vocal Improvisors
Not every jazz vocalist improvises.
Ella could do it, Sarah, Betty Carter too
and then there’s of course Mark Murphy, who later became known for it
(and who can now be heard in every vocal jazz beginning tune!).
But even with current vocalists, improvisation is performed at a high level,
which is why there will be a series (in the coming year) about these jazz vocalists.
