Episode 6 already of the series ‘Damas Del Tango,’ featuring singer Tita Merello, was broadcast on Friday evening 18 March, at 22:00 CET. Tita Merello had an extremely rough childhood marked by hunger and lack of love.
When she was a child, Merello worked as an unpaid housemaid or as a stable hand at a farm and never received any education. She was illiterate and could only distinguish the letters a and o. Despite this difficult beginning, Merello managed to escape her working-class origins with great difficulty. She was neither bitter nor melancholic about it, but looked back with a defiant pride.
