Bill Hopkins (1943-1971) en Elisabeth Lutyens (1906-1983, foto) zijn twee Britse componisten voor wie het succes niet meteen kwam. Hopkins maakte het zelfs niet meer mee. Hij stierf al op zijn 37ste. Lutyens wel, al moest ze er tot haar eenenveertigste op wachten.
