The Bach Portrait in Bach ad Infinitum on Wednesday 6th April (13.00-14.00 ) is devoted to the Dutch baroque violinist Lucy van Dael.
Violinist Lucy van Dael is one of the most important pioneers of the baroque violin.
Since the 60’s she’s been working with pretty much all the stars of Early Music: Gustav Leonhardt, Frans Brüggen, Ton Koopman, Sigiswald, Wieland and Barthold Kuijken.
Together with Frans Brüggen she started the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, and taught at the Conservatories of Amsterdam, Den Haag and Basle.
In the Bach Portrait we can hear her together with Sigiswald Kuijken in the Concerto voor 2 violins in d-klein, BWV 1043.
Solo she plays the Partita nr. 2 in d-klein, BWV 1004 with the long and famous Chaconne as final movement.
