The Concertzender has been around for forty years. In all those years, the station has consistently put Dutch contemporary music on the map. In three special Theme programmes, Mark van de Voort puts the spotlight on ‘CZ Hollandia’. In other words, a series of programmes with highlights from the catalogue of Dutch contemporary music.
In addition to some of the well-known hits, the programmes will also features modern music from the Netherlands that deserves to be rediscovered. Absolute classics together with forgotten gems. The three separate Theme broadcasts will successively cover the 1980s, the 1990s and the start of the 21st century.
The 1980s will be featured in the first programme on Wednesday, April 24, 20::00 – 22:00 CET. In those years there was room for minimalism and tonal sound explorations in addition to the dominant modernism. The Concertzender had just started and in the Netherlands music was being made by composers such as Louis Andriessen, Otto Ketting, Tristan Keuris, Hans Kox, Cornelis de Bondt and Klaas de Vries.
