De Musyck Kamer, our live programme with early music, opens again on Saturday 27 February 2016! The recording takes place at 14:00 in the Dekenkapel of the Pieterskerk in Utrecht. Our guests are Camerata Trajectina, Fantasticus and countertenor Kaspar Kröner.
Camerata Trajectina
This edition of De Musyck Kamer is primarily concerned with the recently deceased Louis Peter Grijp. The members of Camerata Trajectina, Nico van der Meel, Erik Beijer, Saskia Coolen and Hieke Meppelink, have agreed to talk about the life and work of Louis Grijp and to perform some of his work.
The other guests are young musicians who have either recently released a CD or are soon to do so.
Fantasticus
The trio Fantasticus with violinist Rie Kimura, gambist Robert Smith and harpsichordist Guillermo Brachetta have been inspired by the stylus fantasticus of the late 17th century. In February this successful trio will be issuing two new CDs: ‘Tartini & Veracini’ and ‘Bound to Nothing’.
Kaspar Kröner
The German countertenor Kaspar Kröner often sings with ensembles such as the Nederlands Kamerkoor, Amsterdam Baroque Choir, Huelgas Ensemble and La Sfera Armoniosa. In March he is to sing the alto arias in Bachs Matthäus Passion with the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht. Kröner recently released his debut CD ‘Kaleidoscope of Love’ with English lute songs and more recent songs.
In De Musyck Kamer he will perform some of the music from this CD together with lutist Arjen Verhage.
