Woensdagavond om 23.00 uur in Inventions For Radio, geeft Bedouin Records eigenaar Salem Rashid een indruk van zijn woestijnduinen en vroeg experimentalisme.
"Two magi trudge over and under porous sand, trekking thoughtfully without pause. Their cinnamon coloured boots leave symmetrical tracks that tattoo the smooth desert dunes; winds abate, the dunes seem to approve of the designs. They wear loose white cloaks, tied in place by a yellow sash around the waist. Ascending the bronze staircases etched in the oriental skin of ancient alluvial plains, they fly upwards like hallowed doves."
De uit London en Dubai afkomstige Salem Rashid beleefde een stroomversnelling met de start van zijn label Bedouin Records. Zijn indrukwekkende keuze aan innovatieve clubmuziek met etnische invloeden bracht het label in korte tijd veel aandacht. Veel reden dus om hem te vragen
een programma te maken over zijn invloeden.
