The American singer-songwriter has northern roots (he was born in the state of Maine) and a southern sound (the result of an infection with the gospel virus via the car radio in Tennessee). He is best known for the covers of his songs by other artists such as Aaron Neville , Bonnie Raitt, Jennifer Warnes and Joe Cocker. The programme includes not only his songs, but also instrumental pieces. The guitar is more than musical accompaniment for him.
