Episode 6: Blue Train. In 1957, not only classic Blue Note album “Blue Train” by tenor saxophone player John Coltrane as band leader was released, but also the “A Night At The Village Vanguard” album by tenor saxophone player Sonny Rollins. Just like other big jazz musicians, neither Coltrane nor Rollins stayed with Blue Note for long, seeing as the label does not have enough funds as opposed to the larger record labels.
