The first broadcast dedicated to the Peter de Grote Festival which was held from 2 to 8 August and had internationally renowned artists at characteristic locations in the North of the Netherlands. In the series ‘Rond Jochem Slothouwer (1938)’ you will hear two recordings.
(1) On 2 August Sebastiaan Huydts (piano) played works by himself (!), Jochem Slothouwer and George Crumb at the Groninger Museum.
(2) Also on 2 August in the New Church of Groningen, the Haydn Youth String Orchestra, conducted by Jan-Ype Nota, accompanied by Juan Zurutuza (piano), Maaike Bosscher (harp), Stefan Kirschbaum (percussion), Simone Riksman (soprano) and Floor le Coultre (violin) played works by Tchaikovsky, Slothouwer and Dag Wirén.
