In this episode of “Dancing and the Blues”, Ben van den Dungen talks to two pianists: a father and son. The father started in the 1980s, and his career took off like a rocket, making him a new piano virtuoso in the Dutch jazz scene. He has been an essential part of the scene ever since. The son was presented as a jazz pianist at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2006 when he was only 16 years old. His career has been just as stormy as his father’s. Today, Rob & Sebastiaan van Bavel are guests in the studio, and they will play some exceptional duets.
Art Blakey once said, “jazz has to be danceable and has to have the blues.” “Dansen en de Blues” is a podcast about jazz with colorful guests where strong stories, penetrating conversations, and a healthy dose of swinging music take center stage.
