Soundtracks of films all over the world. Kronos Quartet & Asha Bhosle (2005).
Today we will not play a single soundtrack but rather songs of various Bollywood films, arranged by the Kronos Quartet. The album is called You’ve Stolen My Heart and presents the vocals of Asha Bhosle: a super star of Indian film.
The compositions of the songs the Kronos Quartet has selected are by the legendary R.D. Burman (who was also Asha Bhosle’s husband) from the period 1970-90. He produced film music for an amazing 300 films.
The Kronos Quartet is David Harrington; violin, Joh Sherba; violin, Hank Dutt; violin, and Jeffrey Zeigler; cello. On top of that you will hear the tabla and synthesizer for the unmistakable Bollywood sound.
