Pianist, composer and conductor Tom Pierson was a wonderkid who, at the age of thirteen, already performed with the Houston Symphony. Later, he started to compose film music and conducted classical works. With his big band, however, he guarded arranger Gil Evans’s legacy in compositions of his own.
