Cassandra van Agt follows up her eye-opening series about Joseph Boulogne with a new series titled Unknown is unloved? The first programme is on Wednesday 17 September at 19.00 CET and looks at Bernard van den Sigtenhorst Meyer and Dirk Schäfer.
These two Dutch composers are indeed no longer so well known, but their music is still worth listening to. The pianist David Kuyken plays the 2nd piano sonata op. 23 and Six Views of Mount Fuji op. 9 by Van den Sigtenhorst Meyer (1888-1953) and 8 Piano pieces op. 15 en 5 Interludes op. 7 by Schäfer (1873-1931).
